Hi, I have been using Linux in some form or another since 1998 (RH5.1). SUSE ha= s been my distro of choice on several occasions and I currently use SLES om three servers at work. I thought I might help with testing if it=B4s OK to use Virtualbox to do it since I don't have a computer to use only for testing purposes. I feel that it is time for me to contribute in some way if possible. I was thinking about testing "normal" use and what else I can think of. If you have any suggestions they are welcome. I hope we can find some use for me. :-) My IRC nick on Freenode is JsPr by the way. Hi Jesper, of course everyone is welcome to help testing. I am using KVM to run many tests as factory snapshots are by definition unstable and even milestone releases (others would call them alphas and betas) do sometimes have issues. Virtual machines have the big advantage to provide a uniform "hardware" platform that is available to everyone, so that bugs will be easier to reproduce. http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=ODIwNA shows Qemu(Cirrus) and VirtualBox GPUs being used on 8% of systems, so it would be nice to see this plattform well tested. Currently 11.4 is still pretty much in a flux (with Xorg segfaulting since 2010-09-15). IMHO "normal use" testing is more useful after MS4 which will be around December. here are some pointers http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Testing http://old-en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Testing_Core_Team http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Testing_team You can also join us on #opensuse-testing or meet the developers on #opensuse-factory your help is highly appeciated.
