I never use pop, if imap is available. With some providers, flagging an email as "not spam" (and having the client move the mail to the correct folder automatically) signals to the provider to train the filters that "this is not spam". On some providers you have to do that at their web page. In any case, lousy provider if it classifies its own mail as spam.
