Thunderbird problem
I've happily switched over to Thunderbird from KMail. But, I have hit some sort of snag--- I like the ironic humor value of the "signature" at the end of an email message. Rather than using the same one each day, I have a file of "one liners" that a script randomly chooses a new one each day. It works, BUT not always. Here is the entirety of the script: shuf -n 1 /home/mark/sigs.txt > /home/mark/.signature After running the script, thunderbird is supposed to pick up on the new .signature file...but often it doesn't. Here's what I can tell: In the "Account Settings" instead of seeing /home/mark/.signature, it displays /run/user/1000/doc/b0cddf0b/.signature and no signature appears. I can fix it by in Thunderbird's Account Settings, "un-selecting" the "Attach the signature from a file instead (text, HTML, or image):" option and then re-selecting it. After re-selecting, the signature shows up perfectly. How can I avoid this extra step? Thank you for any help, Mark -- Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enought to make them all yourself.

Did you configure it that way? Or did ThB do that weird file automatically? This is very weird.
