Including Shutter into the main repo(?)
Hi, I was needing a snipping tool with the ability to record the "mouse-over tool-tips" into the screenshot and so far I couldn't find nothing with this feature. At least until today, when I read about and have installed Shutter by the community repo rievan. Repository : home:rievan (openSUSE_Tumbleweed) Nome : shutter Versione : 0.98-30.7 Arch. : noarch Fornitore : obs://build.opensuse.org/home:rievan Dimensione installata : 13,9 MiB installato : Sì Stato : aggiornato Pacchetto sorgente : shutter-0.98-30.7.src URL upstream : http://shutter-project.org/ Sommario : The feature-rich screenshot tool Descrizione : Shutter is a feature-rich screenshot program for Linux based operating systems such as Ubuntu. You can take a screenshot of a specific area, window, your whole screen, or even of a website – apply different effects to it, draw on it to highlight points, and then upload to an image hosting site, all within one window. Shutter is free, open-source, and licensed under GPL v3. I think that Shutter is so far the best snipping tool that I never used (IMHO), and I'm asking if you could include it into the main Tumbleweed repository. Thanks for your kindest attention! Regards, -- Marco Calistri Build: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20230118 Kernel: 6.1.6-1-default - XFCE: (4.18.0)

...but does not add effects.

- Talk to rievan whether he wants to submit the tool (and become the maintainer for it in the desired development repository) - find yourself an appropriate devel repository and submit it there. You are the maintainer then. - if not you, find another volunteer to submit into the devel repo and become maintainer. That would be the first step before it can be submitted to TW/Leap HTH Axel

I don't know rievan then I hope him is receiving and reading this email. I'm not a developer, then I would not been the right maintainer for this program. Appreciated your time! Better mail him directly - I added him in bcc here Quite strange that shutter is in Leap since ages, but not in Factory/TW - @DIMSTAR @BigIronMan - How comes? > I'm not a developer, then I would not been the right maintainer for this > program. > Appreciated your time!
