[opensuse-support] Can't use https://meet.opensuse.org/

Hi, I need to use https://meet.opensuse.org/ and it just doesn't work for me. Using Leap 15.1 on three computers. First laptop. XFCE would not manage the BT earphones, so I switched to Gnome after a reboot. With it, sound on the earphones was just noise, but the microphone appeared to work (unsure without loopback test). But when opening the meeting both cores went to 100% CPU, so sound had "interrupts". Camera worked in the meeting configuration, but refused on the meeting, because "camera does not support required video resolution". I tried all the resolutions the meet system offered me. Same problem with FF and Chrome. Similar problem on my second laptop, except I have no BT, but I have an old but working earphone plus mic set (two jacks). CPU load was about 90%, thus sound worked. Same problem with camera. On the desktop machine there is no cpu overload, so I can hear properly, but the integrated camera has never worked since I bought it, and the integrated microphone appears not to work. I tested on https://test.webrtc.org Laptop 2. Microphone passes. Camera passes at 320*240, gets stuck at 640*480. Prints a small progress green line that stops at the end where it should say "ok". Doesn't do any more testing. Cpu load is 8 by pulse audio. Camera led is now off. Laptop-1 on wifi. Camera fails at 1280*720, network warning at ipv6, connectivity warning because "reflexive connectivity" video bandwidth throughput fails. Laptop-1 on eth. gets stuck when testing camera at 640*480, same as laptop-2 Restarting the test passes that point: Camera fails at 1280*720, network warning at ipv6, connectivity warning because "reflexive connectivity" video bandwidth throughput fails. No improvement. Video throughput says it failed because "frame rate mean is 0, can not test bandwidth without a working camera". Retesting laptop-2 Laptop 2. Microphone passes. Camera fails at 1280*720. Network warning, no ipv6. Video throughput fails, same problem as laptop-1 What can I do? -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Laptop 2.
Laptop-1 on eth.
gets stuck when testing camera at 640*480, same as laptop-2
Restarting the test passes that point:

No improvement.
Video throughput says it failed because "frame rate mean is 0, can not test bandwidth without a working camera".
Retesting laptop-2

What can I do? Carlos, another issue I met, using various services for videoconferencing, was a cache and cookie issue. F.e. duo.google.com would not work, or work badly, until I cleaned FF's cache and cookies.

Being the first time I used meet, I doubt it, but I can try. Ok, I created a test meet, and it works fine (I did not clean cookies). I see myself. I don't hear myself, but that is probably intentional. I see in the audio mixer that the microphone is working. And cpu load is about 60%. So... Something in the meeting setup yesterday did not work with my computers. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Correction: "meet" works fine, but "meet2" fails. Error is "camera does not support required video resolution". But, during the configuration phase, the camera works just fine. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

I have had issues using my second webcam /dev/video1, if my first webcam is being used for something else but I never got to reporting a bug about it -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

I don't have two cameras, just two laptops and both fail on meet2. And remember, the camera works fine in the setup section of both meet and meet 2. It fails when I start a session on meet2, and works on meet. To me that looks a server issue. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)
