i just tried/did reinstall via zypper in -f libfwupd2 (va bash? completion inside a Konsole ) and it did print out in orange, that its gonna re-install libfwupd2-1.9.15-2.1.x86_64 after success, it still prints the .so.2 error g_once_init_leave_pointer symbol lookup error. still the same.

then assume the other is erroring zypper -v in -f fwupd -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet oftc

this enforcement of reinstalling the fwupd package gives error about nothing provides....libcbor.so.0.11()(64bit) ... needed by to be installed fwupd-1.9.15-2.1.x86_64.... solution 1 - do not install fwupd solution 2 - break fwupd ... by ignoring some dependencies.....

solution 1 locate libchor.so /usr/lib64/libcbor.so.0.11 /usr/lib64/libcbor.so.0.11.0 rpm -qf /usr/lib64/libcbor.so.0.11 zypper -v in libcbor0_11-0.11.0-1.1.x86_64 try again fwupdate if still fails zypper -v in -f fwupd and so on ... or maybe rpm -q --requires fwupd and see that all requirements are installed but that may take longer. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet oftc

This function was introduced in glib 2.79.0. The version in the current TW is 2.80.0. I have no idea what version comes in Slowroll, but apparently fwupd has been built against too new version of glib than is present in Slowroll.

thanks for the information. today on my slowroll machine, zypper dup brought in a huge number 2500+ of packages. after applying them and a reboot the fwupd now roks fine again. thanks.
