[opensuse-support] ordinary files in rpm file not displayed/accessible in MC
On "entry" (highlight local copy of rpm fetched with wget, highlight it, press <ENTER>) to 12k http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/repo/oss/x86_64/MozillaFirefox-brand... using MC, whether 4.8.22 in 15.1, 4.8.21 in Fedora 30, or 4.8.23 in TW, all directories in CONTENTS.cpio are non-empty. This is expected behavior. On "entry" to 132k http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/repo/oss/x86_64/MozillaFirefox-brand... or http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/x86_64... (downloaded with zypper) all directories are displayed as empty, not expected behavior. What could be missing from either rpm, the downloaded rpm, or mc? Is this an upstream bug of some kind? If yes, whose? -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. Linux User #211409 ** a11y rocks! Maybe the rpm's ARE empty? extracting it will also result in empty directory's: rpm2cpio MozillaFirefox-branding-upstream-68.0.1-1.13.x86_64.rpm | cpio -idmv have you tried to install with zypper, are the files then copyed? simoN -- www.becherer.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Maybe new compression scheme that mc doesn't know about? - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
