Hi, I know not to skip versions when upgrading, but that's not quite my question. A while back I got one of the mini-pcs measuring about 10cm X 10cm X 4cm. Installed 15.4 on it..smooth, but didn't use the installation beyond setting an account up. I want to go to 15.6, and I know not to try to go from 15.4 directly to 15.6. So, how should I proceed? Use gpartd to delete the 15.4 installation? If so, how should I deal with the UEFI stuff? (and the UEFI stuff is really my big question here) Thanks for any tips. If you only went as far as account setup (1.3.9) and did not actually perform the installation (1.3.10-12), how do you know it will work at all on this machine? If you will consider deleting 15.4, why not just install 15.6 in the first place? UEFI will depend on the machine and/or contains "Secure Boot"., and whether BIOS See Section 2. I've done lots of Leap online upgrades. An intermediate upgrade needn't take very long, maybe as little as less than 20 minutes IIRC. I disable unnecessary repos, do the first dup. When it's done, I go right on to the next, after which I add back any desired optional repos and up or dup once more. Last time, a week or two ago, I skipped both rebooting the first upgrade and new kernel installation until after all else was done the final time. It was actually more like 3 upgrades, as the 15.4 was actually beta when that PC's old motherboard puked. The SSD hadn't been used for more than 27 months, until a free motherboard replacement arrived anxious to bring RAM, CPU, PSU, etc. out of hibernation. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. You can upgrade directly (there are two main methods), or you can install fresh, reusing the same partitions, or you can erase the partition table and install absolutely fresh. It is your choice. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.5 x86_64 at Telcontar)

I updated 15.3 to 15.5 and 15.4 to 15.6 without any issues. It of course depends, but with standard repositories I do not expect any serious problems.
