Well, I've got 15.4 going well enough (all updates installed) to try to tackle printing. Years ago I bought a Canon ImageClass MF 5950DW, which is not directly supported by OpenSUSE. I don't give up easily, SUSE does not support my printer directly. But I found: https://printerdrivers.com/canon-imageclass-mf5950dw-drivers-download/[1] which are (supposedly) drivers for linux. (sorry, but the file is copy protected so I can't copy and paste from it) Anyway, it says: "When you have downloaded the particularly needed software, connect the printer" ...and here I don't know what the "paritcularly needed software" is, because they don't say. So, any help will be appreciated. Many thanks, Mark -- A grenade thrown into a kitchen in France would result in Linoleum Blownapart. -------- [1] https://printerdrivers.com/canon-imageclass-mf5950dw-drivers-download/

But FF seems to be able to take a screenshot of it. And if it didn't then an X screenshot program definitely could ...
Anyway, it says: "When you have downloaded the particularly needed software, connect the printer" ...and here I don't know what the "paritcularly needed software" is, because they don't say.
Well above that they say "Download ... from Canon Website" so my guess would be to start there?
So, any help will be appreciated.
Many thanks, Mark

go here and select 64 bit Linux
https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/imageclass-mf5950dw
open the download with archive manager and go to this path
/linux-UFRII-drv-v560-us/x64/RPM/ and install that rpm file
You can extract it it to your download directory and use sudo zypper in cnrdrvcups-ufr2-us-5.60-1.03.x86_64.rpm should do it.

Huh? It is not copy protected. >:-P How to install Canon imageClass MF5950dw printer driver on Linux Download the appropriate software peculiar to your device. After that, follow the following steps to complete the installation process; When you have downloaded the particularly needed Canon imageClass MF5950dw software, connect the printer Make sure that the printer links correctly to your PC or the required network of computers Go to “Systems” and proceed to “Printers.” The system proceeds to the printer screen Click on the “Add” button with a plus sign before it to add a new printing device A screen pops up where you can insert the device URL that you have identified or local a network printer or software on the downloaded folder Fill the information and proceed Complete the installation progression and restart your computer Enjoy your printer
