Firefox moves window to the current desktop when opening links

Since one of the updates from around the holidays Firefox has started to move the whole window to the current desktop (KDE Plasma / kwin5) when I click on a link (e.g. in Emacs) instead of just opening a new tab where I put it. How do I get the old behaviour back? I can confirm it, as I am using Emacs as well and it is just annoying
This is a config option of the desktop. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.4 x86_64 at Telcontar)

True but an update should respect user settings and not change them as per the wishes of someone else.
Yes, I thought of that. Maybe the feature has been broken now. What I mean is that it is not Firefox itself which does the window placement, or at least it wasn't. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.4 x86_64 at Telcontar)

I use XFCE, so different place than yours. And I am on Leap. I think it is, settings, Window Manager Tweaks, Focus: When a window raises itself - do nothing (instead of "Bring window on current workspace"). -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.4 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Add a window rule to make Firefox windows available on all desktops
That'd be even worse. For now I've added a rule to force it on a specific desktop (the one it's started on), however that precludes manually moving any Firefox window to another desktop as well, so I'd rather have the old behaviour back.
