when connecting my Samsung S9 via USB-C to my DELL XPS13 notebook, it doesn't show up in the removable devices applet. Instead the applet tells me "no removable devices". Opening dolphin, the smartphone is shown in the devices section, though. From there I can open the folders on either the internal storage or the additional card and also access pictures taken by the smartphone camera below the DCIM folder. But I can't - manage the device via the removable devices applet, - test or configure the smartphone camera in the "digital camera" settings in systemsettings (I get messages like "can't claim USB device" when I try it),
Enable autmatic mounting of removable media ist off in system settings. I also uninstalled all gvfs packages, because I suspected them to be the culprit.
I am sure, this all worked at least up to last October. I am not sure, when it stopped working - I use this feature only when I'm on vacation.
Actually the latest Tumbleweed snapshot is installed on this notebook.
