[opensuse-support] Cannot complete registration with openSUSEforums
Hi all I have a problem with Leap 15.1 and went to sign up with openSUSE forums. I received a validation email, which contained neatly ordered garbage but no validation code. The sender of this email is the webmaster from microfocus, but an email to that address just bounces. I have since discovered that openSUSE and microfocus are no longer associated. So, given that the validation process is broken, how do I get signed up to the forums? Thanks for the quick response! Let's see what the heroes come back with. Meanwhile, I will start a new thread here with the real problem. Regards JT -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Carlos, thanks for the reply I have just tried the wiki and bugzilla and my registered ID is recognised on both and indeed I have edit access to the wiki. However, that leaves me still requiring to validate my email address for access to the forums and for the bugzilla, which both take me back to a microfocus validation screen and to the fact that the validation emails I receive are corrupt. I did retry registering, but my email address was recognised as being registered on the site already. No, you can not register again, and you should not, anyway: it gets admins a bit pissy ;-) So, the problem you have is that you can not validate the email. Well, open a ticket with admin@opensuse.org. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)

OT: I was subscribed to (I think) this list, or some general questions list, but I forget the email address, and I can't look it up on the computer since the computer crashed badly and the disk cannot be accessed at the moment --the machine will not boot into a system. I will have to reinstall TW on some computer, and I need to get some questions answered before I do. No, that's not the question. Your question is written in the subject, "Cannot complete registration with OpenSUSEforums" and first, there is no "OpenSUSEforums", it is and has been "openSUSE forums"

This is "now" the support list for openSUSE which replaced the "openSUSE" list which now is general conversation mostly belonging in openSUSE-offtopic. Please, do not reuse an old thread to ask a new question, that's bad form. It starts us thinking of your question with relation to the registration on the web forum, the original question of the thread, which wastes time and sends us in the wrong track. It also breaks the mail archiving. You are subscribed to this mail list with the email you used to post this post, because your email got to the list. Otherwise, it would have been rejected. If that was your question. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Try removing all browser cookies for opensuse.org and microfocus.com, then attempting login to BOO before trying to login at the forums. If it fails, edit as new your original report here, add mention what you tried with cookies, then address it to admin@opensuse.org. That will create an issue on progress.opensuse.org that will get attention that should eventually produce success. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. Thanks, it is not a cookie issue. The problem is a corrupt validation email JT -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
