[opensuse-support] Broken menu titles in okular
Some time ago I was fiddling with okular's settings [Configuration/Configure Okular]. I'm not sure what I did, but since then the 'File', 'Configuration' and 'Help' menus have had their titles replaced with the words 'No text'. 'Edit', 'View', 'Go', 'Bookmarks' and 'Tools' are unchanged. The menus still work. If I knew where these variables were stored I could remove that file and re-install okular. Removing and re-installing doesn't work, which means the changes I made are persisting, which is annoying. -- Bob Williams

Have you tried ~/.local/share/okular/ or ~/.config/okularrc - not sure if they are of any help. -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20181015 Qt: 5.11.2 KDE Frameworks: 5.50.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.14.0 - kwin 5.14.0 kmail2 5.9.2 - akonadiserver 5.9.2 - Kernel: 4.18.13-1-default - xf86-video-nouveau: 1.0.15 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

You certainly want to check (or delete) both ~/.config/okularrc ~/.config/okularpartrc and if you don't care about your history (and additional content like note or remarks done) you can reset okular by removing ~/.local/share/okular -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch Bareos Partner, openSUSE Member, fsfe supporter GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Did you change the language, either of the app or of the desktop? Try reverting that.
Not knowingly. In fact, I don't know where to change it in Okular. The Desktop has always been British English. -- Bob Williams System: Linux 4.18.12-2.ga880bd8-default Distro: Desktop: KDE Frameworks: 5.45.0, Qt: 5.9.4 and Plasma: 5.12.5

Then revert to USA English... Just try, it is a hunch. In the desktop. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

Tried. No change. Life's too short... I think I'll delete all the files related to okular in /usr/share and /usr/lib64 and then re-install. -- Bob Williams System: Linux 4.18.12-2.ga880bd8-default Distro: Desktop: KDE Frameworks: 5.45.0, Qt: 5.9.4 and Plasma: 5.12.5

Try creating a new user, login as that user, then try the program. What exact rpm are you using? -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)
