Hi, First of all, running kernel 5.10.3 has no this issue. Second, I have laptop MSI GE62 6QF Apache Pro: CPU: Intel i7 6700HQ iGPU: Intel HD 530 (dGPU: NVidia 970M - but it was not used and I've uninstalled proprietary drivers to ensure they aren't affecting this case.) Internal monitor uses eDP, external - miniDP. OS version: openSUSE Tumbleweed x86_64 20210103 (I'll try 04 later, just updated, but as no new kernel, I doubt something will change). The problem is when running with 5.10.4 and external monitor (mini DisplayPort) is plugged, system hangs (in strange way) on X start. I can reboot with MagicSysRQ + R.E.I.S.U.B. but other than that system is hanged and screens are black (but on). I can't switch to tty. SDDM seems running, but no visual, and system behaves very strange. When I try to blindly shutdown system in sddm (using power button or Tab x 4 + enter) system isn't actually shutting down, but after SysRQ+REISUB it does. If miniDP external is unplugged, then X starts without a problem. And in KDE Plasma plugging works fine. Haven't tried switching to tty and back yet. But if system is powered off while external is plugged — it still hangs. And I can't see any problems in system logs (`sudo journalctl -b -<n>`). So the question is how to detect this problem and report it properly? I'll try to dig logs more, but maybe there is some other way? When I've got hang/timeout problem with i915 before, there was error file in `/dev` to send it, but this time I don't see logs about that and I'm unsure how to extract it (if it was) cause I can't access my system and it'll gone after reboot. Kernel bisecting is something I'd like to avoid. But is doable if there are no other means. -- Kind regards, Mykola Krachkovsky -- Найкращі побажання, Микола Крачковський

Try https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1180543#c3 Bye. Michael.

Thanks, I'll try it later (can't reboot bow), but it looks similar to my case. Side note: seems, my bugzilla search kung-fu sucks :( it was easier to search just by kernel version. -- Kind regards, Mykola Krachkovsky -- Найкращі побажання, Микола Крачковський
