Gnome extensions not working on 20210414 / Gnome 40
Hi, After upgrading to the latest snapshot I can't see to get any Gnome extension to work. I was previously using https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/615/appindicator-support/ https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1422/stocks-extension/ Now when I visit the installed extensions web page [1] all extensions are disabled. If I try to enable then, nothing happens in the UI. In the page they show as enabled until I refresh the page. I've tried with the extensions I mentioned above and the 'system' extension SLE Classic - no luck. I've tried the following: 1. uninstalling/reinstalling from the gnome.org extensions website I get an 'Install extension' prompt, something seems to be happening, and looking at the system journal it downloads and unpacks it but then nothing. The last line is usually extracting: $HOME/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/stocks@infinicode.de/metadata.json 2. restarting gnome-shell using alt-F2 and r 3. checking for errors using looking glass alt-F2, lg, then 'Show Errors' for the extensions, and for all extensions it shows 'has not emitted any errors'. 4. Physically removing $HOME/local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/* At this point I have no idea what to try next. Is anyone else seeing this or has some idea how to debug/fix? Thanks, Robert [1]: https://extensions.gnome.org/local/

Adding the answer in case anyone hits the same problem - extensions were for some reason globally disabled. I needed to launch the Extensions app and globally enable them, as described at [1]. Thanks, Robert [1]: https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/comments/ms383k/gnome_extensions_not_worki...
