gimp in 15.5 black text on black background
Since upgrading from 15.4 to 15.5, $subject describes all the input fields in trying to scale, making it impossible to edit whatever they contain. Does this need some settings change to fix? Gimp displays correctly for me. Maybe a screenshot? -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from openSUSE 15.5 (Laicolasse))

Gimp displays correctly for me.
I'm not using XFCE though.

That was the question, internal vs. external to the program. Turns out "Dark" "Theme" was somehow selected, and not because of anything I did, at least not on purpose. It was same before 15.4 to 15.5 upgrade as it is now with "System" selected as "Theme". I don't think I ever changed any of its "preferences" or "interface" before. It just did what I needed to do, once I was able do decipher its extensive menus' word and icon usage. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. Seems to me theme related, some interaction between kde and gtk. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from openSUSE 15.5 (Laicolasse))
