USB Ethernet Adapter?

Hi Folks, We have a need to connect a second physical Ethernet adapter to a laptop. USB to Ethernet adapters are cheap, but does openSUSE have the suitable kernel modules to make it work? We can't use WiFi in this case due to policy constraints. Thanks for any advice you can offer. Regards, Lew

all kinds of USB to ethernet adapter on e.g. amazon work for me on 15.5 leap. tried many some while ago normal 15.5 installation. normal kernel. no problems here. rtl and amsix or what those other chipsets were.

I'm using successfully for quite a long time Bus 002 Device 005: ID 0b95:1790 ASIX Electronics Corp. AX88179 Gigabit Ethernet It works out of the box. I also have one Bus 004 Device 004: ID 0bda:8153 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8153 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Also works out of the box. This one was giving me hard kernel lockups, but that was years ago, so maybe it's fixed. I don't know.

I ordered this one from UNI: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087QFQW6F?ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details&th=1 It's a nice looking device with a flexible cloth-covered cable. It's recognizable and configurable, but I haven't actually tested it fully yet. I've got confidence that it will work. Thanks again for everyone's help! Regards, Lew
