MS Teams does not work anymore after big system update
Hi all, I know that MS Teams is not part of the standard repositories, but maybe someone has encountered the same problem I'm having. I need MS Teams for my work, so I added Microsoft's repo and installed it. It has been working flawlessly for some months now. Yesterday I got over 3000 packages to update. Everything went smoothly - apparently - but today I find that both Teams and Insync (a commercial Google Drive client) fail to start. Well, not exactly: they do start, but they don't work, and they keep producing core dumps until I kill them. Is anybody experiencing this problem? Hints? I'm on openSuse Tumbleweed 20210921. Thank you in advance Cris

Yep, after upgrade to glibc 2.34 Teams doesn't work. Skype does. On one computer Teams doesn't start at all, on the other it starts, but has empty white window. I doubt we can do much about it. -- Vojtěch Zeisek https://trapa.cz/ Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux https://www.opensuse.org/

I'm on openSuse Tumbleweed 20210921. I had the same problem with Teams. I resolved the problem by renaming

Electron-based applications are broken for now with the new glibc version. Apparently the workaround is to launch then with --disable-gpu-sandbox. More discussions at [1]. Apparently the flatpak versions are not affected, so you could try that. https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.microsoft.Teams Thanks, Robert [1]: https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/comments/ptqlfu/psa_vscode_and_some_nonpat...

Good point. It also affects YakYak, "/opt/yakyak/yakyak --disable-gpu-sandbox" works well. Interestingly, this is needed on desktop with AMD/ATI graphics, not on notebook with integrated Intel graphics. -- Vojtěch Zeisek https://trapa.cz/ Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux https://www.opensuse.org/
