Always used to have the icon of an open app appear in the panel. That doesn't happen anymore. Can I do something to fix that, or is that a mod from the home team? KDE in use NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed" # VERSION="20201203" doug@linux1:~>

Might be right-click to the panel, edit it and ensure You have task manager widget there. HTH, -- Vojtěch Zeisek https://trapa.cz/ Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux https://www.opensuse.org/

Hi, Vojtech-- Well, yes and no. I added task manager to the panel, and sure enough, the open apps appear. However, the non-open apps that used to live at the right-hand end of the panel are now all grouped after the left-hand end, where only 5 icons/widgets should be, and were. (Zoom, Artha, Software updates, Notifications, HPLIP status, IBus panel [whatever that is], Skype for Linux, Clipboard contents, Volume level, Networks, Printers, "show hidden icons" and the clock/date are all shifted to the left hand end, and the open apps are all at the right hand end. Can I get this back the way it "ought to be"? --doug

I'm not sure what exactly You wish to get, but try to right-click the panel, edit it, and then when You hoover over particular widget, You can drag it somewhere else. You can also added new widget. Also, when You right-click to the task manager, edit it, there are some options of displaying etc. It might also help. When You open application menu and right-click to any selected app, You can add it to the panel (as widget). Is this what You need? -- Vojtěch Zeisek https://trapa.cz/ Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux https://www.opensuse.org/

I seem to have it working right now--not sure what I did to get it back. Thanx. --doug

I think I have it back to normal now. Not really sure how, but it looks right. Thanks to Voytech for the hint. --doug
