Problem with vpnc connection

Hi, I have one working VPN conection to a FritzBox in Germany. Created already long time ago. I now added a second VPN connection. On attempt to connect it instantly reports X1E NetworkManager[15459]: /usr/sbin/vpnc: unknown host `xxbgbieemnmfx698.myfritz.net' although I can ping this host (only accessible with IPv6) Thats a bit strange. Any idea what the issue with vpnc may be? Cheers Axel

Does vpnc support IPv6 at all?

This is of course a good point. Looks like the current version of vpnc is from 2008, and the mailing list mentioned in the documentation is dead. vpnc was the recommended driver by AVM for an IPSec based connection. Does openconnect support IPSec? Cheers Axel

If you simply need IPSec - without any Cisco specific features - what about strongSwan?

I have no idea about VPN alternatives - this is what Netork manager offers currently: https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/ae663a0f40f7 Cheers Axel

No, this is what is installed on your system currently. NetworkManager itself does not offer anything. If you installed vpnc or openconnect, what stops you from installing strongswan?

You are of course completely right - I guess that is the preset, I cant remember to have installed any VPN module...but the TW installation is already old (and I'm even older ;-) I'm currently trying to get a Wireguard connection up and running. There seems to be an issue with the provate key that the Fritzbox provides. I'm investigation.... Cheers Axel
