[opensuse-support] Alternative DE's
What are listed as Gnome(s) on the Leap/Tumbleweed login-page, are those versions of Gnome-3? Is it possible to create a panel setup in Gnome-3 that approximates my KDE one? https://paste.opensuse.org/56797715 I'm evaluating alternative DE's, I've had reasonably good results with xfce, mate and lxqt for a total of 4 including kde. thanks -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Without being able to explicitly see all the details there that is somewhat possible with enlightenment, i'm not sure if you can do the icons next to each other but certainly 2 side bars and many other things. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

I looked at it and found it too difficult to accomplish, shelved for-the-time-being. In kde I get two coulumns in Quick_Launcher widgets, the panel doesn't give that as an option the way some other do. I can't speak for other users but I want left and right panels just like in tandem type cockpits, I generally park system things on the left and activity stuff on the right (about nothing other than music & internet) There is no more valuable real-estate on the screen than on the panels where every pixel counts and I never seem to have as much control of layout as I'd like to :) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
