Thunderbird--change preference to read pdf
There seems to be no way to change the preference for incoming pdf files. Okular has not been able to read a couple of recent pdf attachments. I wish to make the preference for pdf ALWAYS Master PDF Editor 5, which can read the files OK. How do I get to a place where I can change this preference? Thanx for your help--doug

Depends a bit on your desktop. In KDE, you open the system settings menu -> Applications search for file type pdf and change the order of applications to have master PDF Editor at first place. In other desktop environments its similar HTH Axel

In XFCE, there is preferences, then "MIME Type Editor". Filter on pdf, then you can see "application /pdf" and some variants. Then, there is "xdg-settings get something" to get the information - sorry, I don't know the exact incantation. Maybe not the right tool. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. HTH Axel Thank you, Axel. Even in this menu, it was tricky to find the applications section
