An example of the ghost emails https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/7ba37325f3f2 On Monday 19 August 2024 08:03:37 BST Ianseeks wrote:
Hi
I'm posting this on kdepim-users as well.
Is there a way to remove all data for kmail for a user? I'm having all sorts of issues on one login. I don't know if I have a configuration error somewhere or a broken install.
I'm using IMAP with postgresql as the backend (i've also tried mysql and the same things happen)
I have tried removing the akonadi folder and let everything rebuild and its fine for about 5 minutes.
1. Everytime the "Interval Checking" kicks off (every 5 mins) I get a lot of repeat emails delivered to the inbox.
2. Most of the repeated emails are duplicates and greyed out in the inbox and cannot be accessed in order to delete them. Applying filters works on them though to move them from my IMAP folder to the Local Folders.
3. I deleted all the emails from my internet provider so its just using the local data store to produce these greyed out duplicate emails.
4. I have tried creating a new user and setting it up to acccess the same email account and this fails with exactly the same issue as new emails come in.
5. I have one other login (my personal one) and its not started to happen there as yet. I don't want to reinstall "Kmail/Kontact" in case it screws up this account too. The only difference between the account is I use "Kontact" with the working one and just Kmail with the broken ones.
Does anyone have any ideas where I'm going wrong?
regards
Ian
