Hello support list, having some test machine used less frequently, but pretty stable. Not messing with packages or messing stuff up. Maybe in November 2019 or so, after a zypper dup, the machine would not let me logging in successfully any more to give me a working plasma desktop, which is the default for my testing user. I select the username amongst the user icons, then enter my password, then the login box disappears, the lightbulb slowly fades into full colors and the circle keeps animating a while, then sometime later a default mouse cursor from plasma appears and I can move it around, but lightbulb and frozen circle is still visible. Nothing happens after this. I can kill this stiation with ctrl+backspace. So I needed to fall back to this icewm I had never used before. This buggy situation has stayed the same until today. Any hints what happened? Any hints on how to resolve this? What happened? Where do I find logs of what plasma desktop and its services applications and components do during this login phase?
