Hallo Carlos, thanks for answering me. After installation of lead 15.5 I tried to start an other Linux. I shut down my laptop. Then I pushed down 'escape' and hold the button pressed down. Then one can start with the start button. With Lead 15.3 . The USB ports were not blocked. I could boot from the USB stick. Later on with Lead 15.5 the USB ports are blocked by a passphrase I did not know. In other words they 'stayed closed'
I have never heard of USB ports being protected by any password. If what you mean is that when you try to boot some Linux system you are asked for a password, well, that Linux system is probably encrypted. Nothing to do with USB ports. Maybe you are connecting an external disk or flash media on USB that is encrypted or protected by password. Again, nothing to do with USB ports. Another password prompt can come from enrolling UEFI keys. That would the root's password. Nothing to do with USB. Or maybe your laptop BIOS/UEFI does protect booting from USB ports with a password. Nothing to do with Linux. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.4 x86_64 at Telcontar)
