I support a friend who uses a 32bit system, so he needs to use Tumbleweed. After the latest upgrade the Wifi interface, a USB dongle, does not start anymore. This was also a problem in August, but a patch in wpa_supplicant.service made it work again. See bug report 1144670. However after the latest upgrade Wifi does not start anymore and that patch does not work anymore. I could reproduce the issue on my own 64bit desktop with a little bit different USB dongle.
It looks like there is timing problem. The error message from wickedd/ wpa_supplicant is: wickedd[1268]: ni_wpa_interface_bind(wlp0s22f2u2): Interrupted system call wickedd[1268]: wpa_supplicant doesn't know interface wlp0s22f2u2 There is a proper file /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlp0s22f2u2 .
This is probably: http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1156920 Workaround until it is fixed: downgrade to wpa_supplicant-2.6-9.1. -- ============================ Roger Whittaker roger@disruptive.org.uk ============================ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
