Anyone noticed the difference? There are forum posts and I was hit by this issue as well. To me it looks certainly worse and I was not able to get the same look with libfreetype6 2.10 and I had with 2.9.
I attached two screenshots to https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1172148 of the same terminal content using two different library versions. If anyone has suggestion how to get the same result with 2.10 as I had with 2.9 I am grateful.
I know 'it works fine here' is never much help but 'it works fine here'. I have no apparent weirdness in fonts and I don't notice any change in appearance from previous version. This is xfce on 15.1 also, though on an updated kernel (video is nvidia g05/440.82-lp151.25.1, fwiw): :~> uname -a Linux dellT3620 5.6.14-1.gb0ab48a-default #1 SMP Wed May 20 08:32:48 UTC 2020 (b0ab48a) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux :~> rpm -qi libfreetype6 Name : libfreetype6 Version : 2.10.1 Release : lp151.4.3.1 Architecture: x86_64 Install Date: Sat 23 May 2020 05:46:36 PM CDT Group : System/Libraries Size : 1107801 License : SUSE-Freetype OR GPL-2.0-or-later Signature : RSA/SHA256, Wed 20 May 2020 07:11:04 AM CDT, Key ID b88b2fd43dbdc284 Source RPM : freetype2-2.10.1-lp151.4.3.1.src.rpm Build Date : Wed 20 May 2020 07:10:49 AM CDT Build Host : lamb77 Relocations : (not relocatable) Packager : http://bugs.opensuse.org Vendor : openSUSE URL : https://www.freetype.org Summary : A TrueType Font Library Description : This library features TrueType fonts for open source projects.
