Yesterday I got over 3000 packages to update. Everything went smoothly - apparently - but today I find that both Teams and Insync (a commercial Google Drive client) fail to start. Well, not exactly: they do start, but they don't work, and they keep producing core dumps until I kill them. Is anybody experiencing this problem? Hints?
Electron-based applications are broken for now with the new glibc version. Apparently the workaround is to launch then with --disable-gpu-sandbox. More discussions at [1]. Apparently the flatpak versions are not affected, so you could try that. https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.microsoft.Teams [1]: https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/comments/ptqlfu/ psa_vscode_and_some_nonpatched_electron/
Good point. It also affects YakYak, "/opt/yakyak/yakyak --disable-gpu-sandbox" works well. Interestingly, this is needed on desktop with AMD/ATI graphics, not on notebook with integrated Intel graphics. -- Vojtěch Zeisek https://trapa.cz/ Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux https://www.opensuse.org/
