the "default" is "true", but it is commented out as if default is not changed, there is no need to configure it, ie: "#"
Some claim to get better mirror speeds when using zypper if they remove '#'. Are you suggesting to leave as per default here?
If the default is "true", yet some people claim to get better perfomance if they write
download.use_geoip_mirror = true
then they should report this in bugzilla.
You are correct, what I have done was (uncomment) the configuration line (fresh TW installation). I did not change anything. Is that correct?
"#download.use_geoip_mirror = true" IS the default setting and IS SET. You accomplish NOTHING by removing the "#".
Hi, where is 'download.use_geoip_mirror = true' set then since the line I speak of is commented out. When it is commented out, it cannot be read by zypper? Is the variable placed elsewhere then? -Thanks
zypper assumes it is 'true' unless told otherwise. So there is no need to uncomment the line, unless you want to change the value to 'false'. Many configuration files adopt this convention in which defaults appear as commented lines. -- Bob Williams
