Really? You can resolve host name that contains ":42986" string? This is not even valid hostname to start with.
and it has an IPv4 address (as mentioned in one post I found with regard to this issue)
My feeling is that vpnc is invoked wrongly.
May be. Or may be you configured wrong string that includes port for some of the required address.
Are there additional steps required to set it up? Just asking before creating a bug with KDE team....
