Linux kernel compilation and also other compile tasks sometimes fail with "internal compiler error". Restarting the compilation helps, but especially within "rpmbuild" or "osc build" build jobs restarting means, that I have to start from the beginning.
As a side-note: build with --ccache.
A hardware problem is possible, but "dmesg" or journalctl does not show any problem. Machine: Intel i5 750, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD
Running memtest will definitely not hurt. (Install memtest86+ and run it from grub -- assuming this is an EFI system.)

No. And I am not aware of any OBS failures either. So it is either your HW is broken or it can be a your-HW-specific bug.
