There are so far 2 people with that preference in this thread alone And both of them would regret that if they really went for some proper reading on btrfs, instead of playing the it-s-always-been-like-this card. Or do you seriouslyy think that 2 people in here know better than f.e. Facebook, SUSE, Redhat and so on.
Wait, regarding Redhat, I thought they dropped support for btrfs. I asked my friend at ChatGPT about it and she spake thusly: "As of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8, Red Hat does not support the Btrfs (B-tree file system) filesystem. Red Hat deprecated Btrfs in RHEL 7 and removed support for it entirely in RHEL 8. Instead, Red Hat focuses on other filesystems such as XFS and Ext4, with a strong emphasis on XFS for enterprise environments." "For users who require Btrfs, alternatives such as CentOS (before CentOS Stream) or Fedora, which include Btrfs support, might be considered. Additionally, other Linux distributions like openSUSE and Debian also support Btrfs." Regards, Lew
