My sister keeps sending URIs to facebook videos but only video works, not audio. Could it be that with all the following installed, something yet needs to be? Are too many packages installed? Does PA need to be disabled and PW enabled? The mixer pavucontrol says audio is playing, but there's no sound. https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Audio_troubleshooting omits string "facebook". # zypsei x26 pulse ewir alsa libav i | alsa-plugins | package | 1.2.6-150400.1.10 | x86_64 | OSS i | alsa-plugins-speexrate | package | 1.2.6-150400.1.10 | x86_64 | OSS i | alsa-plugins-upmix | package | 1.2.6-150400.1.10 | x86_64 | OSS i | alsa-ucm-conf | package | 1.2.6.3-150400.1.4 | noarch | OSS i | libavahi-client3 | package | 0.8-150400.5.73 | x86_64 | OSS i | libavahi-common3 | package | 0.8-150400.5.73 | x86_64 | OSS i | libavahi-core7 | package | 0.8-150400.5.73 | x86_64 | OSS i | libavahi-glib1 | package | 0.8-150400.5.9 | x86_64 | OSS i | libavahi-tqt1 | package | 2:0.6.30-14.0.13_1.oss154 | x86_64 | TDE i | libavc1394-0 | package | 0.5.4-1.27 | x86_64 | OSS i | libavcodec57 | package | 3.4.9-pm154.1.13 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavcodec58_134 | package | 4.4-pm154.3.14.2 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavdevice57 | package | 3.4.9-pm154.1.13 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavdevice58_13 | package | 4.4-pm154.3.14.2 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavfilter6 | package | 3.4.9-pm154.1.13 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavfilter7_110 | package | 4.4-pm154.3.14.2 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavformat57 | package | 3.4.9-pm154.1.13 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavformat58_76 | package | 4.4-pm154.3.14.2 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavresample3 | package | 3.4.9-pm154.1.13 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavresample4_0 | package | 4.4-pm154.3.14.2 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavutil55 | package | 3.4.9-pm154.1.13 | x86_64 | Packman i | libavutil56_70 | package | 4.4-pm154.3.14.2 | x86_64 | Packman i | libpipewire-0_3-0 | package | 0.3.49-150400.1.5 | x86_64 | OSS i | libpulse0 | package | 15.0-150400.2.10 | x86_64 | OSS i | libx264-161 | package | 0.161+git20200912.d198931a-pm154.2.5 | x86_64 | (System Packages) i | libx264-164 | package | 0.164+git20220602.baee400f-pm154.1.1 | x86_64 | Packman i | libx265-199 | package | 3.5-pm154.2.10 | x86_64 | Packman i | pipewire | package | 0.3.49-150400.1.5 | x86_64 | OSS i | pipewire-modules-0_3 | package | 0.3.49-150400.1.5 | x86_64 | OSS i | pipewire-spa-plugins-0_2 | package | 0.3.49-150400.1.5 | x86_64 | OSS i | pipewire-spa-tools | package | 0.3.49-150400.1.5 | x86_64 | OSS i | pipewire-tools | package | 0.3.49-150400.1.5 | x86_64 | OSS i | pulseaudio | package | 15.0-150400.2.10 | x86_64 | OSS i | pulseaudio-setup | package | 15.0-150400.2.10 | x86_64 | OSS i | pulseaudio-utils | package | 15.0-150400.2.10 | x86_64 | OSS i | system-user-pulse | package | 15.0-150400.2.10 | noarch | OSS i+ | alsa | package | 1.2.6.1-150400.1.4 | x86_64 | OSS i+ | alsa-firmware | package | 1.2.4-1.41 | noarch | OSS i+ | alsa-plugins-pulse | package | 1.2.6-150400.1.10 | x86_64 | OSS i+ | alsa-utils | package | 1.2.6-150400.1.4 | x86_64 | OSS i+ | libpulse-mainloop-glib0 | package | 15.0-150400.2.10 | x86_64 | OSS i+ | pulseaudio-bash-completion | package | 15.0-150400.2.10 | x86_64 | OSS i+ | pulseaudio-module-x11 | package | 15.0-150400.2.10 | x86_64 | OSS i+ | pulseaudio-system-wide | package | 15.0-150400.2.10 | x86_64 | OSS # inxi -A Audio: Device-1: Intel 82801JD/DO HD Audio driver: snd_hda_intel Device-2: AMD Cedar HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 5400/6300/7300 Series] driver: snd_hda_intel Sound API: ALSA v: k5.14.21-150400.24.46-default running: yes Sound Server-1: PulseAudio v: 15.0 running: yes # /usr/sbin/alsa-info.sh https://paste.opensuse.org/5f39062816b9 Sound is configured to goto the TV via the Radeon HDMI port. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science.
