[opensuse-summit] Advertizing the locally using posters

Hi, Obviously just plastering posters with Summit logo across the world in Orlando is not going to be sufficient to spur interest. THus we might want to have a more or less catchy phrase to spark people's interest Also a QR code may be useful. Here are some proposals: 1.) """" Meet the Geekos Joins at the openSUSE Summit at Coronado Springs Resort, meet a Geeko, hang out, discuss, hack and enjoy good company. """" 2.) """" FOSS Unites at the Coronado Springs Resort Joins us at the openSUSE Summit for 2 days filled with exciting talks, hands on labs, and lots of fun. """" 3.) """" Software is everywhere The openSUSE Community is happy to invite you to the openSUSE Summit at the Coronado Springs Resort. Join us for hacking, discussing, and good company. """" It is assumed that the dates are already on the poster somewhere else, plus web site info and a QR code. Thoughts/Comments/Flames? I like where it's headed, but I can't think of any more than the ones you spit out there as examples. Would these be posters to plaster about town? If so, who should I contact to get them in my hands and the hands of fellow FL Geekos when they're ready? Sent from my iPhone. Yes, that's the idea. Universities, Colleges, High-schools.
If so, who should I contact to get them in my hands and the hands of fellow FL Geekos when they're ready?
The general idea is to have them printed at a Kinkos that is convenient for the person that will handle this locally, if you're still up for that we wil just need the Kinkos that's most convenient for you. OK, it should obviously be "Join us" and not "Joins" finger speed synchronization issue.... Hey everyone! I redesigned the flyer for promoting the summit. I just couldn't really work with what I had before. So anyway, this change is more adjusted to our website colors, and most of the other artwork we are using. Here is what I made. http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/FlyerBig_zps9df53025.png Enjoy! -- Andy (anditosan) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-summit+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-summit+owner@opensuse.org

I like it Andy. Great job!!! -Gilson

Nice design, thanks for the work. By the time these get hung up the CfP will be closed, thus we can drop the text tothe right under "Participate". Can you make the "Join us..." font larger? Move the address for the resort to the right and place a QR code for summit.opensuse.org above the location address? Also note the url is not www.summit.opensuse.org, rather it is summit.opensuse.org Thanks for the effort, we're almost there :) Later, Robert -- Robert Schweikert MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU SUSE-IBM Software Integration Center LINUX Tech Lead rjschwei@suse.com rschweik@ca.ibm.com 781-464-8147 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-summit+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-summit+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Andy and Robert, I'm planning to start contacting the FL Universities/Colleges/LUGs next week after I'm done with SUSECON setup and I wonder if I could use the below flyer Andy has created when contacting them through email. http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/FlyerBig_zps9df53025.png I'll also call them but since email is easier, I would like to know if that is ok to use it. Steven, I don't have the LUGs info yet. I'll search for it next. I found out some Universities/Colleges as I mentioned on September, 3rd (below).
