Hi All,
I got good news.
The SUSE Marketing team is giving us 100 SUSE back packs to be used as a gift for the people who decide to contribute purchasing a ticket to help us out.
This is great. :)
I would suggest starting the ticket price around $30,00 since the cost of the back pack is $26 but I'm open to suggestions since this is the first time I'm helping with openSUSE Summit.
Lets stick to the $50 ticket price for individuals and $200 for the "Company tickets" ($200 == 5 professional i.e. $50 tickets). Gilson can you please talk with Jennifer and get the links into the SUSE shop. Andy, please incorporate a sentence or two about the professional tickets into the news.o.o article Gilson, once the ticktes are in the shop let me know the inks and I'll add something to summit.o.o As we will not sell 100 tickets, lets come up with a couple of games, to allow people to win 3 or 4 of these back packs. We could have a scavenger hunt and a trivia quiz. What else? I'll start two separate threads for this topic. Sounds good. Lets keep minimum individual contribution as $50 then. BTW, Company tickets at $200 will give them 4 professional tickets for $50 but if you want to give them an extra one because it's a company ticket, then, the ticket price will be reduced to $40 and they will get 5 individual tickets + 5 back packs. Are you ok with that?
Gilson can you please talk with Jennifer and get the links into the SUSE shop.
Which links? Which Jennifer? Please, can you elaborate? First time helping with the Summit so, I would appreciate if you could add more details? ;) Have a good one, -Gilson

Hey, I don't know who Jennifer is, but I assume she is the person we should talk to regarding adding things in SUSE shop. What we want to do is add 2 new items in SUSE shop, one per each ticket we want to sell, so that we can link people to the shop and have them purchase a ticket using suse shop system. Take a look at the tickets we did for oSC13: https://buy.suse.com/store/suse/en_US/buy/productID.264935300 https://buy.suse.com/store/suse/en_US/buy/productID.264835100 One of our tickets will cost $50 and the other $200. Once this is setup with suse shop, you should get 2 links, like the ones I gave you above, one per each item, so that we can link people. For oSC13 we also gave an email (mine) to receive updates for every ticket that was purchased. Makes sense? Stella

Hey all The SUSE web shop manager made the updates so we can use the existing links now to order the new oSSum13 tickets. I've added that Mickey-SUSE image I created this afternoon in the ticket description and it can be swapped out as needed in case necessary. Please, take a look at the tickets we now have for oSSum13: Professional Ticket:

Hey guys, I see that the suggested image is catching on some fire and I would go for that all in only after Disney is notified of this derivative work. As Peter says Disney is known for being "ferocious" about their trademarks and logos and you cannot use them lightly. If there is written consent from Disney's marketing then I could work on it and get it ready for the webshop. -- Andy (anditosan) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-summit+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-summit+owner@opensuse.org
Could we use that for the 'hidden geekos'? Assuming that Disney says it's kosher that is.

As Peter says Disney is known for being "ferocious" about their trademarks and logos and you cannot use them lightly. If there is written consent from Disney's marketing then I could work on it and get it ready for the webshop.

Hey, I have added the links to OSEM. But I haven't made anything public yet, should you still need to evaluate things. Let me know when we are good to go with publishing the ticket options in OSEM. Andy, Robert, Stella and All,
It follows below Novell/SUSE Legal Dept response about using Mickey Mouse head within an oSSum13 logo.

Everyone,
Kellie forwarded this message to me for review since I manage the trademark programs for all four (4) business units.
That said, while the attached logo is very creative, I do not recommend using the Mickey Mouse head or any Disney image. We have dealt with The Walt Disney Company in the past and it is very difficult to receive permission to use their images. And, if permission is granted, they usually require a large licensing fee. The Walt Disney Company is very protective of their intellectual property and are known for policing their trademarks, logos, and images very carefully.
However, if you really want to use the Mickey Mouse head in the attached manner, I would suggest trying to obtain permission from The Walt Disney Company ahead of time.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.
Thanks, Sue "
I sent an email to nidia.caceros@disney.com (Disney Consumer Products) and tips@disneyantipiracy.com requesting for a permission to use it but honestly, I don't think they will allow us to use without paying a fee. That's bad since I really liked that idea... :( With that said, Andy, please can you create a new oSSum13 to add in the ticket description? Then, after replacing the Disney logo with yours, I'll ask Stella to make the tickets available in OSEM. Regards, -Gilson
