[opensuse-summit] Portuguese Update : Summit website portuguese translation
Hello people, As I hope and believe all this information in Portuguese will be very useful to help to find any possible Brazilian sponsors like Banco do Brasil, Caixa Economica Federal ... to the Summit. So I decided to translate the openSUSE Summit website to Portuguese language. I hope there's no much mistakes, but during this weekend I'll just take another look and spend few minutes more looking for some mistakes, also I will share with some people around here to make a revision too. You can find the corresponding files of each translated website page in the following links: - HOME - About the Summit - Portuguese Translation https://docs.google.com/document/d/1paalqalaCpF7D3LSK4NY8Nmk4lgI3pZpf3uW5KYK... - CPF - openSUSE Summit - Portuguese Translation https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LMz_yZpq_EuzXFdKWduec53-k8ZoC_7SYV7mwf-Y... - LOCALIZATION - openSUSE Summit - Portuguese https://docs.google.com/document/d/1p1CTfQIfJtZVmPQpKakg76GHlo98yaxJtPBi_7DV... - Media-Press - openSUSE Summit - Portuguese https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Pf92Ej7x1Eya4dEthO7kEEc08Qy0it7nwDYtON_D... - Code-of-conduct - openSUSE Summit - Portuguese https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WrMe6wTN7MzFcixuMBMEEjBVICSFNPsChb0nBbWN... - Registration - openSUSE Summit - Portuguese https://docs.google.com/document/d/19eJI402ch2Lkaj5d8cTWQqHWTb1EDaGgLnrR_qJ9... - Sponsors - openSUSE Summit - Portuguese https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wkdM1Culaph_m4P9vLjgjLW0jfEgYk6R1ITSqsAZ... best 4 all CarlosRibeiro 2012/4/10 Shayon Mukherjee <sj@opensuse.org>:
Hello all, So far the update is- All the pages except for Register and Sponsor have now been translated and deployed to the summit website. Please check and see if everything looks fine. If not get back to me with the error/issue :).
P.S Please get those pages translated by tomorrow if possible (I am not sure who exactly that is assigned to). If not by tomorrow then asap. So that bryen and jos can go ahead and make an official announcement of the es of the summit website.

Thanks Carlos. This is great. Can you also give PT translations of the banners and we can ask Andi to add them to his artwork? I have no objections to putting up a PT version of the Summit website, as long as Shayon believes it is not a technical issue. However, because of limited time and tracks, the event is planned to offer English and Spanish sessions. I am concerned that a PT-version website might mislead people to think we offer PT sessions. I've no objections to offering Portuguese-language sessions, although that is up to the Program committee to decide. But due to our limited session rooms and not much word from the PT-speaking community that they will go to Summit, I'm unsure if it is worth having PT-language sessions. We already have about 10-20 Spanish-speaking people from nearby Central America saying they plan to go. Can you give an idea of how many PT-speaking people might go to Summit? And more importantly, how many possible speakers we might get from PT language? This is not a rejection of the idea. I would be thrilled to see my friends from Brazil come to Summit. I just want to be careful that we send the right message to people about what the Summit will offer. Your thoughts? If you think we will get a sizable crowd from Brazil and it is worth the effort to include PT-language sessions, then let's collaborate and really make it a welcoming event for Brazilians! Also, we have drafted an invitation letter for those who need to apply for travel visa to the U.S. If anyone in your area needs a letter, please contact me and Alan so we can process the letters to them very soon.
