[opensuse-summit] Artwork To-Do List
Hello friends I put together a simple list of the artwork that needs to be done for the summit. I am not sure that it is a complete list but that's the reason why I am writing you all. These are the elements that are generally present in an artwork to do list for myself. This list is incomplete. So help me put it all together, that way I can work out a general design for all of them. Community Flyers Local Promotional Flyer (aimed for Florida) Attendee Badges Geeko Money openSUSE Pins openSUSE Pens Baseball Caps openSUSE T-shirts Bagpacks Thank you! -- Andy (anditosan) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-summit+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-summit+owner@opensuse.org

Hey, not sure what material we plan on preparing for summit but we can definitely use a poster (to use electronically to inform people), for osc we used some specific background for the twitter account and some logo image for the fb event page (not sure if the current logo would need any resizing or refining for that purpose). BTW not sure what we are doing with the social media... I don't see anything linked to our website. Maybe I missed some discussion and I am not up to day about the social media pages? Definitely badges are very very important! I also like the idea of a counter saying X remaining days (that needs a background image) and a "button/badge" saying "I'm going to summit 2013" (we had a nice one for osc, we could just change the text). Do you know what I am talking about or should I link you? If there is anything I can help with (other than creating the artwork itself, because we surely wouldn't want that), let me know! Hey guys
Hey there :)
This is what I made under the artwork to-do list.
MONEY http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/GeekoMoney_zps83df8e76.pn...
FLYER http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/FlyerBig_zpscf1a6763.jpg
What about adding the date and the place? And possibly some text "C U there" or sth.
BADGE http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/Badge_zps57f3daa1.png
Can we make the text on top a bit "stronger" for better readability? I also like to see the full date of the conference on those badges, but that's my personal like :) Is it in real dimensions (do we have dimensions for the actual badge case) ?

My intention with these materials is to make them very "vanilla," that way you can have a lot of room to put whatever information is needed. I do not know what information you want there, so I left them empty. Last time, I added too much info and I ended up changing most of it. This time I tried to make them empty and fill them up with information that you request for them. -- Andy (anditosan) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-summit+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-summit+owner@opensuse.org

MONEY http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/GeekoMoney_zps83df8e76.pn...
Can you please customize the back of the money to show the Summit logo?
FLYER http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/FlyerBig_zpscf1a6763.jpg
I like the concept but am a bit concerned about what kind of contrast we will get with any text we might place on the flyer. With all the colors it is quiet busy and adding text (see other thread) will possibly make it a bit overwhelming. Maybe there are some tricks you can play with color saturation to put the stripes more into the backgound and tone down the logo a bit?
BADGE http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/Badge_zps57f3daa1.png

Maybe I can apply blurs for the background. I was thinking about contrast as well. Will work on it.

I am fine with standardized Geeko money, but then the money shouldn't make any location reference, the current "standard" design reminds me of Rome or Greece, sorry if that is insulting to nationals, but the architecture in ancient Greece and during the Roman Empire with the massive stone columns is quite similar, at least to me. That said we could have a picture of the globe or a world map on the back to indicate that Geeks are spread all over the world and use that as "standard Geeko money. Hey Robert I changed the geeko money given your suggestions. Here is what I ended up making.
