Heya, After thinking it'd be cool to have openSUSE beer at the conf we've looked into the options, or rather, Robert did. Unfortunately we can only conclude that it's going to be way too expensive (around $5 a beer, seriously!). So, we've looked at other options. So how about this Geeko Summit cocktail: Blend pineapplejuice with a handful of fresh mint leaves, add white Jamaican rum (optional)*, shake or stir to preference. All in an openSUSE Summit cocktail glass which we'll create. Ideas? /Jos * a personal favorite recipe of mine, and simple & green(ish). Also very good without the rum. ;-)

Works for me. Don't we have a couple of unique recipes we served at oSC1 and oSC2 when the parties were held at the NUE offices? I don't remember exactly what they were, but definitely it was supposed to be thematic. One Green and one Red (I guess for Novell.) What isn't clear here is what is your intended serving?only at the parties or? I'll just bet you the hotel is going to insist on having it at their wet bar served by them rather than by us. Guess we need to investigate that. And is this going to be free or charged drink? While I agree that the whole notion of getting custom openSUSE beer is just not worth the hassle, not just for cost but also for legal reasons, I'd be very disappointed if people couldn't at least get a bottle to take home with them as a souveneir. After all, we're having the Summit in part because the event is to accommodate people who can't get to Europe where all the cool stuff is. I'll assume there's 24 bottles to a case. Is it at all possible to consider the expense of shipping 3 or 4 cases to U.S. to give as a one-bottle-per-person souveneir? I brought back two bottles myself last year and gave one bottle to Brandon last week as a thank you for his work. He really loved having one, not for drinking but just to have on a shelf and appreciate. I've also been talking up our beer during my presentations lately and people are always fascinated to examine the bottle after each presentation. It's a cool novelty and I think we'd disappoint people if they couldn't have just one bottle of authentic German-brewed openSUSE beer. :-) Bryen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-summit+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-summit+owner@opensuse.org

Was thinking it would be a free drink for at the party.

As I've seen it now, it just won't be possible to get it there, sorry. We simply can't ship it ourselves due to the alcohol laws and the distributor requires far too much as a minimum.

I know, I know...

Ahh, didn't realize the customs laws for shipping alcohol. Ok new proposal: I have one openSUSE beer bottle left. One person drinks the beer, wash it out, fill it with another beer (budweiser?) and pass it along to the next person to drink. Repeat cycle. Now everyone's had openSUSE beer! :-) Bryen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-summit+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-summit+owner@opensuse.org

I object over hygienic reasons. I do not wish to drink budweiser.
