[opensuse-summit] Current status
Hi, There is no meeting this week. Thus here is a quick summary of where things stand. - Program schedule: + received some late requests, all could be accommodated and have been added to the schedule + summit.o.o has been updated accordingly - Evening events: + I am in contact with the person at Disney that handles the catering * We are getting Pizza on Friday it is practically a release party after all * Saturday is Mexican Theme night * Breakfast and Lunch have been ordered, there will be no provided Lunch on Sunday. The plan is to end right around noon and catering is very expensive * For both evening events participant will get 3 drink tickets, Geeko Dollars, after that it's cash bar A.I. Can someone please dig up a costume shop in the Orlando area and see if we can get some Mexican themed stuff to rent for the evening? - Advertizing the event: + Flyers are printed * Steve any update on the distribution? + FLOSS Weekly * Jos and I recorded a FLOSS weekly episode (http://twit.tv/floss) that will be published as episode 271 * Unfortunately we were plagued by a lot of technical difficulties thus the show is on the short side. However, I think we still got some good info about the Summit and the release out the door + Jos will also contact "The Linux Action Show" to see if they can announce the event on their show A.I. Once Episode 271 is released on FLOSS Weekly publish the link via "Social Media", ugh do I hate that I just wrote this ;) - Misc stuff + I have printed the Geeko Dollars + I have the Geeko Hunt Game sheets printed + I printed the Geekos for the Geeko Hunt game (now lets hope I don't forget to bring any of the stuff ;) ) + Gilson & Darren took care of arranging speakers and an amp, thus we should have music :) - TSP + not everyone we have offered to sponsor has accepted * if you got accepted as a sponsored attendee, please have the courtesy to either accept or decline the offer. Please do not leave the TSP team hanging. If you need to decline that's OK. By declining you free up the funds for someone else. By not responding you are blocking someone else from attending, that's not fair. - What's next + We need to slowly start thinking about the stuff that needs to be done at the Summit - Manning the registration - Printing badges (printer will be there) - Geeko Hunt team -> distribution of geekos A.I. I will follow up with SUSECon folks to see if we can have badge holders and lanyards I think that's about it for now. We'll have another meeting next week, Thursday, November 7 at 11:30 A.M. EDT. Note the US is changing the clocks this weekend, thus we are back to 6 hour difference to central Europe. Meeting is at 16:30 UTC @Izabel Could you please be so kind and add the meeting to the openSUSE Calendar. Thanks all, keep up the good work. -- Robert Schweikert MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU SUSE-IBM Software Integration Center LINUX Tech Lead Public Cloud Architect rjschwei@suse.com rschweik@ca.ibm.com 781-464-8147 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-summit+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-summit+owner@opensuse.org
