[opensuse-summit] Some progress
Hi, Well I have some progress to report,.....finally. I have gone through all the web site documents and images for summit.opensuse.org, while I am not a web guy I think I figured out a bunch of stuff. There is still content to be added, but most of the stuff is in shape such that it can be posted I think. My next steps are to figure out how to get push access to the git repo, figure out how to deploy the site, set up the Summit in OSEM and work with Jos on an announcement. Chuck may have found us a Keynote speaker :) While at the IBM Edge conference I also had a chance to talk with someone from the SUSE events team to hopefully get some help. I am hoping we can get the "new" site published this week or early next week, get OSEM set up and have an announcement with CfP and all the bells and whistles. Will keep everyone posted. I have push access to the git repo now and pushed my changes. But nothing is showing up on summit.o.o yet, I have sent mail to admin@o.o but have not heard anything back yet :( Robert -- Robert Schweikert MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU SUSE-IBM Software Integration Center LINUX Tech Lead rjschwei@suse.com rschweik@ca.ibm.com 781-464-8147 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-summit+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-summit+owner@opensuse.org
Robert, When did you send out the email to admin@o.o? On Wed, Jun 19, 2013 at 3:40 PM, Robert Schweikert <rjschwei@suse.com> wrote:

The pull from the github repo has just been enabled, that's the good news. The bad news is that my clean up effort basically broke site generation. Apparently the Ruby code does not deal well with the situation where stuff gets removed. Anyway, the current code base of summit.o.o has been pushed to github, although it results in a broken site. So if anyone knows anything about Ruby and can fix issues please fork openSUSE/summit.o.o on github and send me a pull request. I have sent a plea for help to henne, the Ruby master, but I know he is completely swamped. Once things go beyond basic html and a few links I am lost when it comes to web stuff. That's the current state.
