[opensuse-summit] Summit website is now up and running
Hello, The openSUSE website is now up and running at http://summit.opensuse.org . I am open for any comments/feedback you guys have :). Also I have prepared a documentation on how to edit or add contents to the summit website. I have tried to make it as easy as possible. Below are the details [1] - This contains all the data related to setting up the nanoc instance on your machine. Committing,fetching and pushing content to/from off of git. And how to add/edit contents on the summit website. [2] - This tells you on how to create gpg and sign your ssh keys. As you need to provide this to darix in order to gain access to the server. You can find darix at #opensuse-admin channel. [3] - This is basically nothing but a short list of commands you will be needing to get the things done. May come handy and may make task completion quicker i guess. Also few key points to remember - 1. You need to setup a git and github account 2. Let me know if anything does not work out. Or if this gets complicated and if you feel comfortable providing the stuff to me. I can always add it to the website. 3. Once done with editing or adding content make sure push the commits to git.7. But it is a good idea to view the site on your local machine first. You can use nanoc view for that. 4. Always do a git fetch/merge before you start working. As it will pull all the info off of the repo. This is helpful since there are multiple editors to this site and git fetch/merge will update your local machine with the recent changes. 5. Once done with creating your ssh key. Create the gpg key, sign the ssh keys and pass it on to darix. So that you have the deployment information with you. As this process takes a little bit time :) 6. Please ask me if you questions you have. 7. Wow. Awesome how-to and website :D I finally gathered the strength to go over it, added some stuff etc. Now trying to get that live - a git push doesn't work due to a lack of permissions :D
