Hello, Without having a db its quite an isssue I guess. But maybe we can use something like
http://www.tinymce.com/ Its a JS wysiwig tool. We can create a table to start with. And then interested users come in and start filling in the empty spots.

Can you create a sample for us to see how it works? I'm guessing from what you're saying, this solution doesn't require a database. If so, I'm game to try it out. Bryen

So, Jos tried to get this topic going a while ago with a suggestion to create a mailing list for people to sign up to, but that suggestion seemed to have died a rather unceremonious death... :-(
On May 1, we'll be formally announcing the registration is open and the discount codes to our Caribe Royale hotel is now available. Rooms are $129 each for 1-2 beds. Sofa beds are also included in every room. Additionally, villa suites that can sleep up to 8 people (3 beds + sofa bed) will be available for $179, but realistically 4 people.
That can be a significant savings for both the individual and for us (funding-wise.) The more our funded people room together, the more money we have available for funding more people to come to the Summit. Depending on how you calculate it, a person could end up staying in the hotel for as low as $25 or $50 per night.
We *want* to encourage people to room together, especially those we will sponsor for travel (assuming we have funds for that.) But telling people to room together is one thing, knowing where to find people in search of roommates is quite another.
I was thinking we should just create a "Rooming Board" on our website, but on the technical side, there is no database running the website that can store/manage these listings. We could link to a wiki page, but as Jos pointed out, it requires login, which will create a barrier for some people.
Let's discuss realistically now how to resolve this opportunity. Incidentally, this "solution in search of a method" will probably also be needed for our oSC pages which is running the same setup as Summit.
