[softwaremgmt] JFYI: Alex's "glick": a refined version of klik, with no runtime required
JFYI ----- Forwarded message from Dan Kegel <dank@kegel.com> ----- Date: Mon, 20 Aug 2007 12:01:35 -0700 From: Dan Kegel <dank@kegel.com> To: packaging@lists.freestandards.org Subject: [packaging] Alex's "glick": a refined version of klik, with no runtime required http://blogs.gnome.org/alexl/2007/08/07/experiments-with-runtime-less-app-bu... "glick bundles are standard ELF files that you can run like any other binary, but they contain all the files, libs and binaries needed for the application in that one file. glick files embedd a filesystem in the rodata section of the elf file, and the startup code contains a fuse filesystem to mount this filesystem, and some magic glue code to make it all work together."
