So is there an appropriate mailing list / forum dedicated to (at least) RBLs, SpamCop? I'd like to share my and discuss other's experiences with some RBLs (false positives, rude blocking etc). Perhaps suse-sec is _not_ the right list for this (as it's not really SuSE, nor security related).
Yes :)
(Should have known that... ;-D -- never ask questions which can be answered yes or no, or you get exactly that) Please provide some of the URLs / Lists / List Archives you know of. Google searching only showed some MTA-mailing lists. Thomas

Oh .. you mean a list which deals with spam issues ? These seem to work but watch out for the strange spam that starts to come your way after someone picks up on the idea that you might understand some of the advanced issues that are involved in dealing with spammers :).... http://spamcop.net/forum.shtml -- Thanks Richard

spamassassin has very frequent version updates... No, we do not plan any updates for the spamassassin package. Too many problems with version updates. I'm running 2.11 on ym 7.0 system here, and I love it. It filters around 70-100 spams a day with no false positives so far. Roman.

I'm a little confused now. The spamassassin rpm that was installed by me 8.1 installation was spamassassin-2.31-23. There is not a spamassassin-2.31-35.i586.rpm when I run YOU. Why is this package not in the update tree? Thanks for helping me understand. David
Hi David,
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/8.1/suse/i586/perl-spamassassin-2.31-35.i586.rpm ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/8.1/suse/i586/spamassassin-2.31-35.i586.rpm

This is very easy: There is no difference between 2.31-35 and 2.31-23, you can tell by the changelogs. The packages have been rebuilt due to other constraints. If the release number is higher, it generally means that the package is younger and that it has been built again. But it doesn't necessarily mean that there are any changes in the package.
Thanks for helping me understand.
I hope I did.
David
