Maybe you want to read some doc. Start with something like: find /usr/src/linux/Documentation/ -type f -print0 | \ xargs --null grep -ln martians /dev/null AFAIK these are packets you really don't expect from the direction they come from (i.e. packets from internal hosts dropping in at the external interface -- just like martians come landing, which is where the name seems to come from).
