One option that I've used is to install a system locally then use partimage to dump the disk partitions to image files. I've then burnt those to CD-ROM and made it bootable with a small initrd/linuxrc that invokes sfdisk then partimage to restore the dumps. This has a few dependencies of course... your data must all fit on a CD-ROM (though partimage uses gzip or bzip2). My linuxrc prompted for the IP address that the machine was going to be on (actually, IP address, broadcast, netmask, dns and default route so 5 questions in all) and then used sed to change the relevant config files. Oh, and then you have to invoke SuSEconfig and lilo too. I didn't have to worry about X on my machines, they're command line only. Trevor
