1. did you remove the share from smb.conf? - samba will show a share that is defined even if the directory has been deleted. 2. Did you restart samba? - /etc/rc.d/smb restart Cheers Peter aka the pleb who had to learn more about smb filesharing than he ever wanted to know...... _______________________________________________________________ Peter Nixon Systems Engineer Jigsaw Technology Pty Ltd URL: http://www.jigsaw.com.au <http://www.jigsaw.com.au/> Address: 21 Boomerang Place Seven Hills NSW 2147 Australia Phone: 02 9672 4222 Fax: 02 9672 4211 Email: peter@jigsaw.com.au _______________________________________________________________ -----Original Message----- From: Mariann [mailto:mariann@lineone.net] Sent: Thursday, 13 July 2000 7:48 To: suse-security@suse.com Subject: [suse-security] samba207 Hi, I'm using Samba 2.0.7 and I'm experimenting with shares at the moment. I created a share on my SuSE 6.4 box and accessed it from a Win2000 machine. Than I deleted this share entirely, and expected that I wouldn't be able to see it anymore from the win2000 box (after refreshing the view in windows explorer) but the opposite happened. What could be the explanation and the solution for this? advTHANKSance Bodri
