Re: [suse-security] [OT] Bind9 not resolving the first time round ...
Hi Yes. Sorry, I must have forgotten to post back to the list. I reverted back to bind 8.3.4 (comes with SuSE 9.0). Since then everything is working much better. Regards Ray On Sat, 2004-02-14 at 14:15, Andreas Wagner wrote:

Hi All
I use SuSE 9.0 on my firewall. I am having issues with Bind9 not resolving host the first time round. If the same query is issued within a few seconds, then it resolves correctly. I did a bit of research at google.com and came across a few list postings (of various lists) which suggest that bind9 is to blame.
Are there currently any such known issues with bind 9.2.2 on SuSE 9.0?
Their suggestions were to go back to bind8.

Ray
for some days I have been impatiently waiting for a reply to your above posting to show up in the SuSE-Security list, for I am running bind 9.1.3 (on my home box, SuSE 8.0) and am having similar problems. Did you make any progress on yourself? I for one seem to be unable to even get the google results you got, let alone fix the issue...
Thanks a lot for any help, Andreas
