Hello. some time ago i'd talked with someone about suse irc support and information channel, but i've lost his email :( so i want to write here about that. i want to make suse irc channel at efnet. i will make all necessary stuff myself, but i need some help from SuSe. first of all i need programmers help to write info bot for channel. and also i need to talk with suse administrators to make some irc bots, that will host this channel, i'll write scripts for them myself and do other things, just need shell accounts to put bots there. if you are insterested, please, contact me. EFnet is an extremely poor choice. In case you weren't clued to the fact the network is rapidly dying due the extreme DoS attacks that the servers have been hit with. Most admins have restricted access and many users are finding it difficult if not impossible to log onto the network. I suggest you try irc.openprojects.net I believe there is a SuSE channel there. They also have ChanServ and NickServ so you don't have to worry about some lame packet kiddies trying to take over your channel every 5 minutes. No shell accounts needed. M

the main thing is that efnet is one of the biggest and older network. many people hanging there and there are many linux channels (redhat and some others have their channels there), but if its possible i think that i can make it on another network, but i still need someone to help me with infobot (that will work with mysql or any other database). what network? efnet?
There already is a active #SuSE channel on irc.linux.com. There is also a new channel on the same server #susesecurity. See you there. DA On Fri, 24 Nov 2000, vladimir m. bondarev wrote:
