Thank you, Kris. This seems to be another way to realize it. Bye Michael

Huh! How do you do this? Does anyone have any pointers? Thanks, Lew Wolfgang

Some hints: man smb.conf ssl (G) This variable is part of SSL-enabled Samba. This is only available if the SSL libraries have been compiled on your system and the configure option "--with-ssl" was given at configure time. Note that for export control reasons this code is **NOT** enabled by default in any current binary version of Samba. This variable enables or disables the entire SSL mode. If it is set to "no", the SSL enabled samba behaves exactly like the non-SSL samba. If set to "yes", it depends on the variables "ssl hosts" and "ssl hosts resign" whether an SSL connection will be required. Default: ssl=no Example: ssl=yes And more follows. Who'd have thought, a manual page that has instructions..... :P Kurt Seifried, seifried@securityportal.com Securityportal - your focal point for security on the 'net
